Within a matter of 2 weeks we are all going to be kicking on a beach somewhere laying out in the hot sun. Yes, spring break is only 2 weeks away and i really hope you realized that bulking season is over with. Now its all about looking good and being toned. If you forgot that spring break is right around the corner and need to trim off some extra fat fast, here are a few tips:

Drink Nothing but water. Water should be the only thing you are drinking from now until then.  A lot of people always complain about how “water is boring” and they “want something with flavor”. To counter this, throw a lemon or some fruit in it and you will get better tasting water with extra benefits such as weight loss, better blood flow, fresher breath and more energy. And thats all from drinking water with some lemon in it!

Higher reps, lower weight. This is a key element for when working out at the gym. The key is to lower the amount of weight you are lifting for each exercise and bump up the repetitions you are doing. Alot of critics always say that higher reps will decrease your strength, which it might but at the same time you will build lean muscle mass for your beach body. The amount of reps you want to shoot for to see best results are from 8-12 reps for each exercise.

Turn up the intensity.  Everyone usually thinks that the best way to get ripped it by doing cardio. WRONG! Although cardio can help you lose fat, it can also decrease your muscle mass. The best way to keep the muscle but lose the fat is by increasing the intensity of your workouts. One way you could do this is instead of running for 40 minutes, you start off with a 3-5 minutes jog. Then you sprint for 60 seconds and then walk for 120 seconds and do 5 intervals of this. This will increase you heart rate drastically to burn more fat and not muscle.

Hope these tips help you lose fat fast before spring break!

  1. I thought your entry was interesting and very timely when considering how close beach season is. I also definitely agree in that higher reps will give you those beach results that you want in terms of getting cut rather than building large amounts of muscle to bulk up. I also agree that cardio is not always the key to getting cut. High intensity intervals are much more likely to get the results you want without running off that hard earned muscle.

  2. I liked this post, as a former body builder and elite fitness instructor I must say, I’m impressed. I hate running for long amounts of time so knowing I can get a serious burn while not losing any of my extraordinary muscle mass is great new. I spent all winter getting yoked and now it’s time to get shredded, am I right?
