Since it was Saturday, today’s workout was a long run. The run was shorter than most recently (only 5 ½ miles). The goal was a minimum of 6, so I came close. I didn’t prepare my body that well the night before. We had some frozen pizza, and I had a few beers and a cocktail, with not a lot of water before. Not to mention, it was almost 80 degrees when I started running at 8 AM with 75% humidity. Poor planning on my part.

I had pretty good pace, average of 8’13”, but went through my water fast due to my lack of hydration the night before and because of the humidity. On my runs I have been taking a 18 oz running water bottle with some electrolytes in it to help fuel my body on the run. This has been crucial since and has really been a life saver, but I wish I took care of my body better the night before. But at least I still showed up! That’s one thing I am happy about.

Workout: 5.5 miles at a 8’13” pace

Mental Well Being (morning): Good

Mental Well being notes (morning): Even with a run I wasn’t that happy with, I am still happy I did it and can’t expect every run to get better than the last
