So typically on Wednesdays I like to have a rest day to catch up on sleep and to give my body a break. This is essential in order for my body to grow bigger and stronger. If a rest day isn’t in your vocabulary, use it as a low impact day to breakout of the normal routine of weight lifting. One way to do this is to go to some sort of local fitness class/studio (and its not as much as you think)!

WHAT IS CLASSPASS

A great way to try out fitness studios in your area is by using the app Classpass! The benefit of classpass is that you pay a monthly subscription with a preset number of credits, which you can use at local fitness studios (studios that are apart of the app). There are a number of subscription options ranging in price and the number of credits you have for each month. I am on the cheapest option, which is $39 a month and is perfect for anyone that plans on going at least once a week.

HOW DOES IT WORK

In order to reserve a spot in a class, you have to use a number of credits (usually from 4-8 per class, but varies). You just signed into the app, choose your city, select and time and date, and then see which class catches your eye! I do Yoga every Tuesday which only uses 4 credits per class, which is perfect if I feel like going twice some weeks.

WHAT CLASSES ARE OFFERED

The types of classes can vary from yoga, to group fitness classes, cycling, bare etc. You can see which studios are using class pass in your area by going here!

HOW TO SIGN UP

You can sign up online or by downloading the app. There is a free two-week trial for new subscribers only; you can signup for here. Once the free trial is up, you will be enrolled into the $59 a month plan unless you cancel your trial before the 2 weeks is up. You can also use this discount code, which will give you $30 off of your first full month, and then you will be enrolled in the $39 a month plan unless you cancel before it renews.

MY FINAL TAKE

I have always been a traditional weight lifter that likes to go to the gym, but that was really the extent of my workout experience. I think using Classpass is a great opportunity to explore other forms of exercise while also offering a fair price.

It has given me the opportunity to make yoga apart of my weekly routine and allowed me to essentially join a yoga studio without having to pay a high monthly fee. The way I look at it is that spending $10 on a hot yoga class once a week is a pretty good deal! I also plan on trying other studios that use Class Pass in the coming months!
