Today we are going to be doing a HIIT leg workout to get the blood flowing. This workout is built to really challenge you by mixing in 2 rounds of cardio and weights, and then ending it with abs.

To start it off, we  are going to do a 10 minute jog. This is to get the body warmed and ready for some squats.

The first lift we want to do is squat. Since this is a major lift, we are only going to focus on this for a total of 7 sets. This should take you about 15 – 20 minutes to complete.

Back to the treadmill for some interval running. This is where you should be expected to get challenged. Your legs with start to feel like jello after doing squat, but try your best to push through!

Next we get into our first circuit. Instead of time, we are going to go with a rep count of 10. Crank through these 4 exercises for 4 rounds as fast as possible. Take a 30 second break after each round.

The last circuit is going to be abs. The key to having a strong lower body is also having a strong core. We will do 4 rounds of 4 exercises. After each round you should feel a deep burn in your abs. Take a 30 second rest after each round.

Incorporating legs into your weekly workout routine is a very important aspect. To understand more benefits of leg day, go here

To end it all, stretch out your legs and abs for about 10 – 15 minutes. This will help with the soreness later.

Less Intense Version:

The goal with the less intense versions is to scale the workout back so someone who might just be starting to workout would be able to complete the workouts. If you find the less intense versions becoming too easy for you, but you cannot still do the full tailored option, I would suggest doing a mix of the 2. The best way to see results is to challenge yourself each and every day.
