Today’s…

workout of the day, we are going to be doing a 60 minute high intensity leg workout. This workout is designed to help build lean muscle mass maximizing your heart rate through strength training.

Cardio Round 1

For the first round of cardio, we are going to be doing a 10 minute run on the treadmill. This is to get our body warmed up, muscles loose, and to get into a good mind set. Don’t go too hard here, we have quite a workout ahead of us.

Weights Round 1

The first round of weights we are going to focus on our major lift (Squat) and then also incorporate a circuit. Squat is our focus lift of the day so take your time here. Also, challenge yourself by increasing the weight through the progression of your lifts. The circuit is going to be composed of 4 different exercises. Some of these lifts you can substitute dumbbells for a barbell and vice versa.

Cardio Round 2

Our second round of cardio is going to be quick but intense. Start off with a 1 minute jog then increase the intensity for 30 seconds, doing this one more time before we end it with a cool down walk. This should keep your heart rate up as we go onto our last round of weights.

Weights Round 2

The last round of weights will be on machines to keep it low impact and isolate specific muscle groups in your legs. Limit the amount of rest in between each set to keep the intensity up!

Stretch

To end the workout, stretch out those muscles to prevent soreness and injury. Recovery is the most important part after working out, so make sure to take care of your body and it will take care of you. Stretch it out for a total of 10 – 15 minutes depending on how much time you have.

Less Intense Version:

The goal with the less intense versions is to scale the workout back so someone who might just be starting to workout would be able to complete the workouts. If you find the less intense versions becoming too easy for you, but you cannot still do the full tailored option, I would suggest doing a mix of the 2. The best way to see results is to challenge yourself each and every day.
