Today’s…

workout of the day, we are going to be focusing on a muscle building chest workout mixed with a HIIT treadmill circuit to get the workout kicked off.

Cardio…

For cardio we will be doing a HIIT treadmill circuit to get your heart racing and the blood flowing before we hit weights. Be sure to give it your all here! This will set the tempo for your workout and loosen up your muscles. If you want to challenge yourself but doing another round of the sprints, feel free to do so!

Weights…

We will only be doing 1 round of weights today but will put a lot of focus on our bench press (either barbell or dumbbell). Take your time here as there are 6 total sets. Increase the weight EVERY set!! This is important to stress and challenge your muscles. If you need a spotter, do not be afraid to ask someone near you. Safety is the first priority when lifting, especially if you decide to go heavy!

Abs…

We will also be doing a ab circuit with weight to really feel the burn. Adding weight to your ab workout is a great idea. Abs should be treated just like any other muscle group. If you want to build bigger and stronger muscles, your need to add that weight resistance!

Stretch

To end the workout, stretch out those muscles to prevent soreness and injury. Recovery is the most important part after working out, so make sure to take care of your body and it will take care of you. Stretch it out for a total of 10 – 15 minutes depending on how much time you have.

Less Intense Version:

The goal with the less intense versions is to scale the workout back so someone who might just be starting to workout would be able to complete the workouts. If you find the less intense versions becoming too easy for you, but you cannot still do the full tailored option, I would suggest doing a mix of the 2. The best way to see results is to challenge yourself each and every day.

  1. This takes it a step up from what I did this AM: looks like I have my arm plan for Saturday’s workout boost! I’ll modify HIIT on the elliptical as Saturday isn’t a running day but also add in some Heavy Bag work for extra cardio before cooling down with ab work 🌱💪🏼💥🥊

  2. I have a new-found interest in chest day once I let go of the myth that “chest day is for guys only.” I appreciate the less intense version to this, as chest is one of my weaker muscle groups that I’m trying to build up. You rock!

  3. Love chest workouts because it gives my sore legs a rest! Don’t let the low set count fool you… this will get you arms shaking 💪🏼
