Today we are going to be doing a Back and Shoulder Workout with Cardio. Technically this workout isn’t considered HIIT because the weights portion of the workout is not setup in a circuit, but it will feel like a circuit given the intensity of the cardio involved in the workout.

The first round of weights is going to be all dumbbell work. This is to change things up from the traditional barbell weight lifting. Dumbbells also train your muscles differently than using a barbell, so it is good to have that diversity in your workouts.

After the first round of weights, we are going to hit the treadmill again and do the same circuit we did to get the workout going. This should keep your heart rate up through out the duration of the workout.

The next round of weights is all cable work. Like using dumbbells, cables work your muscles differently, adding the resistance factor. Once you finish here and if you have time, feel free to add in some ab work of your choosing. Don’t forget to stretch it out at the end!

Less Intense Version:

The goal with the less intense versions is to scale the workout back so someone who might just be starting to workout would be able to complete the workouts. If you find the less intense versions becoming too easy for you, but you cannot still do the full tailored option, I would suggest doing a mix of the 2. The best way to see results is to challenge yourself each and every day.
