High Intensity Interval Leg Workout
Today we are going to be doing a high intensity interval leg workout. This high intensity workout will challenge your muscle and cardio stamina.
To start it off, we are going to run a mile for time to get the blood flowing and the muscles moving. Warming up is always crucial to a good workout because you don’t want to be tight when lifting. This could end up causing injuries over time.
For the first round of weights we are going to focus on barbell squat. We will spend about 10 minutes here, so make the most out of this time. Then we will do our first circuit which will be 4 rounds of 4 exercises. Some of these lifts can be done with either a barbell or a dumbbell so it is really up to you and what you prefer doing.
Back to cardio with 8 minutes on the stair master. Challenge yourself here and play around with the different speeds. I would split up the 8 minutes by doing 4 minutes of medium intensity and 4 minutes of high intensity.
Circuit number 2 is also going to be 4 rounds of 3 exercises, all at 10 reps each. These exercises will be done using machines which will make it faster to go through.
End the workout with some ab work. Having a strong core is great to maintain good posture and form. Don’t forget to stretch!
