Build a Leaner Body with this 40 Minute HIIT Cardio and Ab Workout

Today’s…

workout of the day, we are going to be doing a 40 Minute HIIT Cardio and Ab Workout. This is workout is best done from the gym but you can also modify it some if you want to do it from home. 

Cardio Round 1…

For today’s cardio, we are going to be doing a 2 mile run. This is a great way to get your heart rate up and the blood flowing. Feel free to play around with the intensity of this run by modifying the speed or incline. If it is nice outside, feel free to do this run outside instead of a treadmill. 

This workout also has a second round of cardio at the end. This is to do the stairmaster for a total of 10 minutes. Usually what I like to do is start off easy and then gradually increase the intensity of the stairmaster. 

Circuit…

For our circuit today we are going to be focusing on full body using nothing but body weight. This is a 4 exercise workout which we will do 4 times. We will do each exercise for a desired number of reps or set amount of time before moving onto the next. After each round take about a 30 second break.
 

Abs…

For abs we are going to do 3 different exercise for a total of 4 sets. This should get your core burning! 

Stretch

To end the workout, stretch out those muscles to prevent soreness and injury. Recovery is the most important part after working out, so make sure to take care of your body and it will take care of you. Stretch it out for a total of 10 – 15 minutes depending on how much time you have.

Cardio

 – 2 mile run

 

Circuit

 – 4 rounds of the following:

    – 10 pushups

    – 10 pull ups

    – 10 burpees

    – set of stairs (or 30 second high knees)

 

Abs

 – 4 rounds of the following

    – 20 weighted toe touches

    – 10 leg raises

    – 30 mountain climbers

 

Cardio

 – 10 minute stairmaster
